Best Stock Photo Site

Note: DollarPhotoClub is now closed for new members You can now join Adobe Stock instead.

I don’t normally write posts like this praising a service. But this one almost seems too good to be true! I have been using a new service called “Dollar Photo Club” for almost 2 weeks now 6 months now and it is a complete dream! Perfect for businesses, bloggers, freelancers, etc.

I ❤ @DollarPhotoClub! So long iStockphoto, hello $1 images! #stockphotosClick To Tweet

Service Details

Their service is very simple. You pay $10 per month and every photo in their massive library is $1.00. You also get 10 free photos per month. If you have ever used services like iStockphoto then you know how cheap this really is. Your first thought is probably that the library is horrible. Well, sorry to disappoint you but their library is very impressive, 25 million + impressive! In fact I use the images now on all of my blog posts.

If you don’t believe me, just take a look for yourself on their website.

They don’t just carry photos either, they have vectors and illustrations as well.

Their search is very easy, just type in the keyword you are looking for and away you go. However they do offer some additional filtering options which I find helpful.

  • You can search by the following orientation:
    • Horizontal
    • Square
    • Panoramic
    • Vertical
  • You can search with “safe” search enabled or disabled. By default it is enabled.
  • You can search for images with people in them or images without.
  • You can also search by #Hex color in a photo. This is a great feature which I use a lot.
  • And then of course you can search by category.

What Have You Got to Lose?

If you are tired of over paying for quality photos then I highly suggest giving this service a try. Dollar Photo Club is saving me hours and $ each week just for the fact that I can find a high quality stock photo in a matter of minutes for $1.

I would love to hear your thoughts and comments below as always!

I agree! Ever since I subscribed to this service My graphics looks better and my wallet too!

    • Brian Jackson

Glad to hear it Dan! Dollar Photo Club has become a game-changer for me.

  • Sue Bride

This is really good value. I’ve joined sites only to find that their advertised price only referred to their cheapest images with some costing 10 times as much.

    • Brian Jackson

Thanks for the comment Sue! Yes, I agree with you 100%. This company isn’t hiding anything, plan is very simple, no contracts and everything is $1.00 :) Saving me time and money.

  • Jay Mayu

    Hi Brian,
Thanks for introducing me to them. My doubt is, say we download 10 images first month and download another 10 images next month. In the third month, would I be able to still access those 20 images I downloaded previously and use it on multiple projects? If so I’m gonna buy it no more questions :)

    • Brian Jackson

Hey Jay! Great to see you on my blog :) That is the one thing they don’t offer. They don’t let you re-download them afterwards. What I do is store them all in a folder, or dropbox so I never lose them. The service has definitely paid for itself within the first couple days.

      • Jay Mayu

Thanks Brain. I bought it today and used it on 2 client sites. Both of those clients were fell in love with the images. Premium content for this price is really awesome. Thanks again for introducing.

        • Brian Jackson

Glad to hear it! I have actually been going back through my client sites as well updating images :) For $1 you can’t beat it.

Wow, That’s so cheap. I’ve been using Big Stock Photo because it was cheaper than istockphoto but this is unreal. I post weekly so may only need 4 or 5 a month but at $10 a month it’s still a bargain.

    • Brian Jackson

Hey Mark! Ya it is amazing :) I use it for all my clients now as well as this blog and my other blogs. Their library is super impressive and the price is unbeatable. I used to actually create a lot of my featured images in Photoshop for my blog posts to save money, now since I can get one for $1 I don’t even bother and just buy it lol. Saves me an extra 20 minutes.

Be careful…they have a TOU policy that is vague, and when pressed (via a phone call) I was told that when you post their images to a blog post or social media, you must provide attribution. It does not matter if the blog is for business, personal or editorial reasons. A blog, is a blog is a blog. They are very vague (and actually non-responsive) when asked about using an image on a business flyer that later gets posted to a blog post or social media site. I literally could not get an answer. I think the poor guy’s head exploded by asking such a specific question and demanding a specific (and not vague) answer. So…use at your own risk on blog posts and social media sites.

    • Brian Jackson

Thanks for the tip Gail! Definitely should always be cautious. However I have run into those issues with Istock, etc… as well. I don’t think any stock photo site really wants their photos distributed over social networks. I have asked DPC and they told me it was fine, but again like you said their policy is very vague and could be interpreted both ways determined by who you talk to.
